Ordinary indigo dyeing is performed by reducing
indigo in the vat. We have another method
for indigo dyeing. That is to dip cloth into
a juice of fresh leaves of Polygonum. Green
leaves of indigo plants contain colorless
precusor of indigo called indican which turns
to blue indigo within the fiber.
